my thoughts on all sorts of creative things

Archive for November, 2016

Despite the cold weather at the end of November I was surprised and happy to still see some flowers in my garden.

Last week I went to the Stitching, Sewing & Hobbycrafts show at Christmas at the Excel centre and I saw this owl.

Yesterday I went to the Ideal Home at Christmas fair at Olympia and I saw these owls.

Iraqi items

These three items are from Iraq:

This is an old Iraqi Dinnar – I love the design.

This book is called The Art of Knitting.

This is an Iraqi cooking book with the name of the bookshop, the price of the book and the signature of the two writers.

This week I got a new Samsung TV, which was made in Romania. It replaces an old Bush TV, which I had for 11 years. I don’t know where it was made – it’s is not written on the TV or the manual guide.

My colleague, who is visually impaired, knitted a blanket. She chose the colours and the arrangement, and I stitched it for her. She was very delighted and I think she is close to finishing her next one.

A previous blanket she made can be viewed here.

Queen’s House

I went to Queen’s House in Greenwich this week. It reopened in October after refurbishment.

Today’s post is about the items which are made in my workshops. People who made them are of different levels. It includes knitting, crochet and embroidery.
